Lantern Parade and Wassail

Let’s liven up the wintery park with glowing lanterns, beating drums, marshmallow-melting fires, and ghost-scaring ceremonies! No need to book, just turn up on the day and enjoy!

Lantern Parade
16:30-17:30

Create and bring along your own lantern and light up the darkening park, in a lantern parade led by the drumming workshop!

Wassail Ceremony
17:30-18:30

Drive all evil spirits away from the Community Orchard, and sing songs of celebration to the oldest apple tree in the park!
This event is free to attend, but not all workshops are free of charge.
Many of the lanterns will be made in school workshops before the event, but anyone can make a lantern at home and bring it along, just make sure you are using electric LED lights in lanterns.

This event has been organised by Yeovil Country Park ranger team, Yeovil Art Space, and Love Yeovil.

Don't worry if have not been to Penn Hill Community Orchard before, we will have stewards at Petters Way car park. Parking at Petters Way Carpark, Petters Way, Yeovil BA20 1UN.
