Bank Holiday Waste Collections

Forgotten? Summer Bank Holiday means no kerbside collections Monday 30th August and pick-ups will be one day later all week until 4th September.

That's Mon 30th on Tue 31st through to Fri 3rd on Sat 4th September. No changes to recycling sites so all open Sat 28th August, Sunday 29th August and Monday 30th August. All usual materials are being taken, including garden waste at all 16 sites, all those with charges (tyres, gas bottles, soil and hardcore, vehicle parts), and those requiring advance online payment (asbestos, plasterboard).

Visitors must take responsibility to keep themselves and others safe. Check government restrictions on travel and safety when planning a visit. Wear gloves and, if possible, a mask.

Check your pick-ups at somersetwaste.gov.uk's My Collection Day. Report any missed collection after 7 pm on the due day via the My Waste Services menu at somersetwaste.gov.uk (tip: postcode with gap AB1 2CD). That ensures you are "in the system" and we can track what is happening. Also, tell Somerset Waste Partnership about any collections missed twice or more in a row. Do that via the 'complain' tab on the My Waste Services menu, as that makes you a priority for attention.

Find daily service updates here: somersetwaste.gov.uk/service-update/  Also, your options - not instructions - for delayed recycling, including food waste: somersetwaste.gov.uk/delayedrecycling/
