Two new wellbeing centres have opened in Somerset to help farmers who often work in isolation and have little time to access healthcare. The centres have been set-up locally and provide farmers and their families with quick access to long-term support. Nurses with farming backgrounds have been recruited to work at the centres, with Farming Community Network providing teams of volunteers.

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested in Langport in connection with a spate of crimes and acts of anti-social behavior. Police say the boy was quizzed in custody and that enquiries are on going. A spokesperson for the South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team says anti social behaviour has a negative impact on people and they ask the public to report incidents to the police.

Planning permission has been granted to Yetminster Scout Group to build a new scout hut off Sussex Farm Way in Yetminster. The new hut will be built in place of an old Army hut that Yetminster Scouts currently use for their meetings, and that is no longer fit for purpose.

There are just 100 days left to spend the last of the Bank of England's paper banknotes before they cease to be legal tender. The Bank says an estimated 470 million individual twenty and fifty pound paper notes remain in circulation, including here in Somerset.

A new exhibition has opened in Crewkerne looking at the issue of climate change and whether the way we lived in the past is relevant today. The display called 'Our World, Your Choice’ at Crewkerne Museum makes comparisions between Make Do and Mend, Dig for Victory and food rationing of the Second World War and the current trends relating to use of energy and waste.
