A bird flu prevention zone has been declared across Somerset following reports of further cases of the virus in local flocks. Farmers and bird keepers have been ordered to toughen their biosecurity measures, with those with more than 500 birds urged to restrict access to essential visitors only. The UK Health Security Agency says the risk to public health is very low. Meanwhile, the Food Standards Agency says it’s safe to eat poultry and poultry products, including eggs, provided they are properly cooked.
A new company has taken over providing e-scooters in Yeovil. The service that had been run by Zwings has been bought by Irish firm, ZEUS Scooters. The company says it plans to introduce new three-wheel scooters in Yeovil and replace blue Zwings scooters in the town with black ZEUS models

On the evening of Wednesday, September 7th, roadworks will take place at Hendford Roundabout also known as the police station roundabout. While on the evening of Monday, September 12th, roadworks will take place at the Yeovil College roundabout. Temporary traffic lights will operate on both occasions between 6:30 pm and 6:30 am.
