Some bus routes in Yeovil and around South Somerset won’t be running as normal today due to strike action by members of the RMT union. The stoppage is the latest in a long-running dispute over pay involving drivers and other staff at First South West. Passengers are being advised to check what buses are running before they leave home.

Yeovil Town Football Club says its stewards and volunteers are being subjected to abuse on match days. The club says it has a zero-tolerance policy to abuse and those found responsible could face exclusion from Huish Park. The club has thanked the Green and White Supporters Club, the Disabled Supporters Association and the Cary Glovers for their co-operation in dealing with the problem.

Somerset Waste Partnership is running a series of activities this week to encourage more of us to reuse and recycle our waste. ‘Reduce Week’ is asking people to share tips and ideas to help cut down on food, clothing and plastic waste.
