    Police have secured a closure order on a house in Yeovil linked to drug offences and antisocial behaviour.     Police have secured a closure order on a house in Yeovil linked to drug offences and antisocial behaviour. The property in Millbrook in Yeovil has been closed for three months with no one allowed to use it. Police say anyone experiencing similar issues in their neighbourhood should contact the police so action can be taken if needed.

    A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest into the death of 15-year old Iris Goldsmith who died when the quad bike she was driving overturned near Bruton in July of 2019. The inquest was told the vehicle flipped as it was zig-zagged across an open field at the family farm at North Brewham. Iris, the daughter of the financier Ben Goldsmith was left trapped under the vehicle and died from the neck injuries she sustained.

    The Royal College of Nursing in the South West is asking NHS managers to hold discussions with staff who haven't had a Covid vaccine. It follows the Health Secretary’s announcement that all frontline NHS workers need to be fully vaccinated by next Spring unless they have a medical exemption. 

    Parish and town councillors in South Somerset are being offered training to see how they can help tackle climate change. The training is being funded by Somerset County Council as part of the target for Somerset to become carbon neutral by 2030. 

    A new restaurant has opened in South Petherton in a building previously used as a bank. Called Holm it’s run by the London-based restaurant chain Levan and Larry’s and is their first restaurant venture outside of the Capital.
