    Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A358 near Ilminster in which a man was killed. The collision between a car and a lorry happened on the Ashill stretch of the A358 on Tuesday at around 11.45 am. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call the police non-emergency number 101.

    A woman from Chard who's been shielding during the pandemic says she's excited about getting back to something of normality from today. Four million of the most clinically vulnerable people in England and Wales are no longer being advised to shield at home from today. Sheila Smith from Chard has COPD and diabetes, she's keen to start doing things again.

    Plans have been submitted to convert a former pub in Langport into a shop. The former Kelways Inn on Somerton Road, famed for the large metal archway at its entrance which features the word "Kelways", closed in September 2018. Its owners are seeking permission to use the premises for retail purposes.

    A glassmaker in Langport is helping to raise awareness of testicular cancer. Will Shakespeare from Shakespeare Glass is creating odd baubles to bring in money for the Oddballs Charity. He’s joined up with the Exeter Chiefs rugby team on the fundraising. 

    A new community fridge has opened in Wincanton for people living in the town to use. It's based at the Cole's Yard just off the high street and the Town Council is appealing to local businesses for any leftover food to be donated. 

    The organisers of the Glastonbury festival have announced a global live stream event to be held on Saturday, May 22nd. Performances will take place all around the Worthy farm site including the Stone Circle and Pyramid field. Artists like Coldplay and Damon Albarn will be playing at the ticketed virtual event.
