Plans have been outlined to build four hundred new homes in IIminster. Land in the Herne Valley has been identified for the scheme by developers Persimmon Homes who say a formal planning application will be submitted to Somerset Council before the end of the year.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of a road traffic accident in Sherborne where a child was seriously injured. It happened on Monday afternoon when an Audi A5 in which the child was a passenger and a concrete mixer collided in Bradford Road, close to the Oxley Leisure Centre.
