A Yeovil children’s nursery has been shut down due to "safeguarding concerns". Following an inspection, Ofsted has suspended Oaklands Day Nursery on Preston Grove with immediate effect. Ofsted has not said why the suspension was imposed.
Police have issued images of two men they want to question in connection with the theft of a quadbike in Yeovil. The green quadbike, with registration LJ16 HLY, was stolen in Preston Road on Saturday, May 21. The images taken from a CCTV camera can be viewed on the Avon and Somerset Police website. Plans have been submitted to convert a pub in Chard into a house. The former Furnham Inn on Furnham Road in Chard closed in 2013. The building’s owners have attempted to sell the pub without success. The planning application argues that the only viable future for the property is to change its use to a house.
