    A campaign to re-open Chard Junction Station has moved a step forward. Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil has announced a new recruitment drive. Three public parks in South Somerset have won Green Flag Awards. People in Somerset aged 50 and over or, who work in front-line health and care, are being asked to book a Covid booster jab and the line-up’s been announced for this year’s Big Green Gig in Chard.

    A campaign to re-open Chard Junction Station has moved a step forward. At a public meeting held in Tatworth last night, plans were outlined to re-open the station to passengers, including giving the nearby former Dairy Crest Milk Processing Factory building a new purpose. 

    Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil has announced a new recruitment drive. The company aims to recruit 300 new apprentices on industrial placements and for its graduate scheme next year. Once completed, it’ll bring the total number of young people on early career schemes at Leonardo in Yeovil to 900.

    Three public parks in South Somerset have won Green Flag Awards. The awards given to Yeovil Country Park, Ham Hill Country Park, and Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve mark them as being some of the best parks in England.

    People in Somerset aged 50 and over or, who work in front-line health and care, are being asked to book a Covid booster jab. Around 26 million people in the UK are eligible for a booster jab - including the over 50s, pregnant women, and those with a weakened immune system.

    The line-up’s been announced for this year’s Big Green Gig in Chard. Performing at the community music festival at Chard Guildhall on Saturday, September 24th will be singer-songwriter Stevie Nicole-Brown, Folk duo River Roots, and reggae hip-hop band Regime.
