Dog attacks on people in Somerset are on the rise, according to Avon and Somerset Police. The force dealt with more than six hundred reports of dogs attacking members of the public in 2022, a twenty per cent increase on 2018.
A Somerton man has appeared in court on a drink and driving charge. Stefano Delmanso of Searle Court in Somerton pleaded guilty to the offence at Yeovil Magistrates Court and was fined £440 and banned from driving for sixteen months.
South Somerset District Council is selling its stake in a planned commercial development in Yeovil for less money than it originally budgeted to get back from the deal.
