Somerset is under a level two heat-health warning from today with temperatures expected to stay well above average all week. People are being advised to stay indoors in the middle of the day, drink plenty of fluids and take extra care of children. Meanwhile, the Met Office has issued an Amber Weather Warning for extreme heat in Somerset beginning from next weekend.
