    People in South Somerset are being warned of scammers asking for money for having a vaccination passport sent. Somerset's Trading Standards says people are receiving emails asking for their bank details and in return to have sent a coronavirus digital passport. A real vaccination passport doesn't cost anything to get.

    New figures show that more than 80% of 18 to 24-year-olds in Somerset have had their first Covid vaccine. NHS Somerset is now urging more pregnant women to have the jab.

    A Yeovil man has been jailed for two years for burglary offences. Appearing at Taunton Crown Court, Daniel Vaughan, pleaded guilty to break-ins at properties in Avon Close and Percy Road in Yeovil and a shoplifting offence.

    South Somerset District Council is taking legal action to have traveller families removed from Yeovil Country Park. The group began occupying a spot near the Ninesprings Café with their caravans last Friday. 

    A South Somerset District council worker has been nominated for an award for her work helping the community during the pandemic. Katie Menday helped to set up a hub at Westlands Leisure Centre in Yeovil to distribute food parcels to those in greatest need.

    A Somerset-based charity that supports male victims of domestic abuse claims the pandemic has caused a spike in calls to its helpline. Mankind Initiative says over the last two years, calls have increased by a quarter.
