History was made at Huish Park on Saturday, when Yeovil Town extended their unbeaten run of games to 13, smashing the previous club record of 12 games without defeat, set in 1965. The scoreline of 2-0 against visitors Dover has given Yeovil a six-point lead at the top of National League South, with a game in hand.
Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh is calling for the planned expansion of the town’s Octagon Theatre on its current site to be scrapped. He wants the site sold for residential development and the proceeds used to build a new regional theatre on the former cattle market site, off Reckleford. Mr Fysh believes with Somerset Council making big spending cuts to avoid bankruptcy, the option to build a new theatre on the cattle market site should be taken seriously.

A consultation has been launched in Somerset into new planning rules on biodiversity that come into force early in the New Year. Somerset Council is seeking views on the new rules from the public, developers, and other interested groups. The survey can be viewed on the Somerset Council website.
