A farmer who admitted to polluting the Fivehead River has been fined £5,000. Daniel Macey of Underhill Farm near Taunton said he had an issue with a silage clamp, which led to effluent entering the river. The Environment Agency sampled the water after a member of the public reported the incident.
Local internet provider, Wessex Internet has won a major government contract to deliver a service of full fibre broadband to homes and businesses in Crewkerne, Ilminster and Bruton.
