    Somerset Council is investigating the source of a raw sewage leak in Mill Lane at Limington, near Ilchester. Heidi Checcini has been living with the problem outside her home for over a year and says it has made it impossible for her to sell her house. She’s also concerned about the impact it is having on her family’s health.

    Somerset is to receive a nearly £7 million boost in bus service funding. Somerset County Council will receive £6,849,000 over the 25-26 financial year. The government says the funding is aimed at enhancing popular bus routes, protecting rural services, and increasing bus use for shopping, socialising, and commuting to deliver London-style bus services to every corner of Somerset.

    A new space has opened in Yeovil for men to meet and chat. Organised by the Andy Man Club, a suicide prevention charity, it aims to help men who struggle with anxiety. The group meets every Monday at 7 pm at Morley House in West Hendford. 

    The rail regulator has given the go-ahead for new train services in Somerset from the end of next year. Train operator, 'Go-op', plans to operate return weekday and weekend services between Taunton and Weston-super-mare, Taunton and Westbury, Taunton and Swindon, and Frome and Westbury. 

    A new nursing training centre has opened in Yeovil. The building on Preston Road, run by Bournemouth University, is aimed at attracting new entrants into nursing. It includes a simulation suite where students can learn nursing skills on-site before going on placement to local hospitals.

    Chard Road Runners have donated three hundred rolls of wrapping paper to the Chard Christmas Present Appeal. The paper, together with 180 rolls of sticky tape, will be used to wrap presents for giving to local children this Christmas.
