The RSPCA are appealing for help after an elderly neglected dog was found with missing fur and sore skin in Yeovil. The female German Shepherd named Lola was helped by a member of the public before being rescued by the council’s dog warden, taken to a vet and then passed to the RSPCA. Anyone with information about the animal’s owners can contact the charity on 0300 123 8018.
The impact of flooding in Chard is being addressed by the Town Council. They say they are putting in measures to reinstate ditches which have been filled in, and are also looking to install new storm water culverts in areas where this isn’t practical. A number of residents are welcoming the move after flash flooding affected several areas of the town in May.
Stoke-sub-Hamdon’s new skate park is on its way to becoming a reality, after work began to replace the old facility, fenced off for “health and safety” reasons. The construction, opposite the Hamdon Medical centre, is expected to take 8 weeks.
