Yeovil Town fell to a disappointing defeat against Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
Three first-half goals from the visitors built a comfortable advantage for the North Wales side.
Despite an improved showing in the second half, Wrexham were able to comfortably see out the game.
Darren Sarll opted for the diamond in midfield for Town once again. A.Smith continued as a mainstay in goal, with Kelly, Dickinson, Skendi and Sass-Davies making up the back four.
Matt Worthington began at the base of the diamond with Josh Neufville, Tom Knowles, and Chris Dagnall ahead of him.
Reuben Reid and Joe Quigley led the line.
The Glovers started slowly, and the hosts were able to capitalise, as on 9 minutes defender Shaun Pearson headed home from a corner to open the scoring.
With an already injury-hit squad, Sarll would have felt frustrated to watch both Worthington and Skendi hobbling off in the first half as Town trailed by a goal.
Worthington’s replacement, Hunt was involved in the second goal, as Luke Young’s shot spurned off him for the Red Dragons to build a two-goal advantage.
Two became three in the 30th minute as Jordan Davies bent a free-kick over the wall and beyond a helpless A.Smith.
There was a slight improvement from Yeovil in the last fifteen minutes of the first half, but a lack of cutting edge meant Robert Lainton was hardly tested.
The second half was a largely drab affair with the hosts able to largely keep Town at arm’s length.
In terms of chances, Yeovil’s best came just moments after the restart with Neufville firing wide from the edge of the box following some well-worked build-up.
Wrexham largely dictated the tempo of the affair, rarely looking to cut the Glovers open, it took until 70 minutes for the North Wales side to test A.Smith again, forcing him into a stunning stop from a corner.
With few positives to take from the afternoon, academy graduate Toby Stephens offered a glimmer for Yeovil fans as he made his debut, playing the final ten minutes of the clash.
Ultimately, Yeovil will return to Somerset disappointed that it was a sub-par first-half showing that let them down.
