Yeovil Town 0 - 1 Bromley

Yeovil Town defeated by Bromley at Huish Park.

Yeovil Town fell to a disappointing defeat to Bromley at Huish Park.

A fourth minute goal from Besart Topalloj was all the visitors needed to secure a victory. The Glovers did little to test the Ravens goal and will be leaving Huish Park frustrated at the lack of a clinical edge. With the first shot of the game,

Bromley took the lead through Topalloj. Corey Whitely and Kellen Fisher kept the ball alive and eventually got the ball to Topalloj who hammered the ball home. In truth, the Glovers never really got going in the first half, with little attacking threat. It took until the 24th minute for Town to create anything of note.

After being picked out at the edge of the box, Callum Harriott’s strike took a deflection and forced a save from the Bromley ‘keeper. Crosses seemed to be the order of the day in the first half for Yeovil, but most were unable to find a Green & White shirt.

The final chance of the half fell the way of the visitors, as Louis Dennis snuck in behind the Town defence, but thankfully for Smith who had rushed out, he fired over. At the break, the Glovers were forced into a change as Harriott was unable to continue, with Scott Pollock on for his debut. Town started this half better than the first, and had an attempt fly narrowly wide from the edge of the box after Charlie Cooper wrapped the ball wide.

It was Cooper who was Yeovil’s brightest spark in the game, continually trying to thrust the side forward at every opportunity. Just one minute later, an even better chance fell for the Ravens. Cheek was found at the back stick, but he poked his effort over. The zip that Yeovil started the half with quickly faded, despite enjoying territory in the Bromley half, there were few chances to show for it. Alex Fisher and Ryan Law went the closest with just over twenty to play.

It was a scramble for the Bromley defence as both Fisher and Law attempted to shoot, but neither could get a clean connection on the ball. Late in the day,

Fisher headed wide from a Cooper free-kick, but that was as close as Town went in the closing stages. The result leaves Yeovil just one point above the relegation zone with eight games to go.
